Installation Instructions
Product: Rewmar MS Polymer
Flexible wood flooring adhesive
Rewmar MS Polymer is a water and solvent
free MS Polymer based flexible wood flooring adhesive. It can be used
for mosaic, 20mm solid, stab, pre-finished and end grain parquet,
wood-plank and wood-block as well as any exotic timbers and 15 or 20mm
engineered hardwood flooring. It is suitable on porous and non-porous
surfaces such as sand/cement screed, concrete, anhydrite, wood and
chipboard. This product is water and solvent free and therefore there is
minimal risk of wood deformation. In short, there is very little that
you cannot stick with this superb high tech wood flooring adhesive.
Consumption: Approximately 1kg per m²
(using a 6mm V notch trowel)
Subfloor: The subfloor must
be flat, dry, clean, smooth, sound and free from cracks. Irregularities
like old adhesive, stains etc may adversely affect the adhesion. Uneven
surfaces must be leveled with a self leveling compound. Due to Rewmar’s
universal application capabilities the adhesive is compatible with all
proprietary leveling compounds, both latex and water based. Smooth
surfaces like anhydrite should be roughened and if necessary the top
layer should be removed. A preliminary compatibility test is recommended
on every surface.
Application:
16 kg Tub. Remove lid and
protective plastic film. (Keep the film to recover the unused adhesive
for storage). The adhesive can be poured onto the substrate to be
trowelled as needed.
12 kg Bag. Cut the corner off the
bag and squeeze the adhesive onto the substrate for trowelling as
required.
Spread the adhesive directly to the
subfloor with a 6mm V notch trowel. The 6mm V Notch is designed to apply
sufficient adhesive to firmly bond 20mm wood plank flooring. A smaller
notched trowel may be used if fixing smaller format wood flooring such
as wood blocks or prefinished 14-15mm boards. Do not apply more to the
surface than can be covered with flooring within 30 minutes. Lay in the
flooring and tap into place. Ensure good adhesive transfer to the
flooring (minimum 80% cover). Loading the floor with weights will
improve the transfer. Allow a 10-15mm expansion gap between the wood
flooring and any abutments such as walls, door frames etc. Wait at least
12 hours before sanding. Do not apply the adhesive at temperatures below
5°or above 25°C and at a relative humidity above 75%. Do NOT dilute the
adhesive. Fresh adhesive can be removed by wiping with a damp cloth or
with Rewmar Hand and Tool Wipes. Always remove excess adhesive as soon as possible as the
process becomes more difficult the longer it is left and will in time
require mechanical removal. Always refer to the installation
instructions from the flooring manufacturer and all applicable flooring
regulations and standards.
Storage: Shelf life maximum 12 months in
original, closed packaging. Store in dry conditions at 5-25°C. Acclimatise
cold product to come to room temperature before use.
